I have been attending kung fu classes with Sifu Chapman for around a year now and have found (and am still finding) it to be a fascinating experience. This is the second martial art I have studied forany length of time and - unlike some previous forms of training - each class is fresh, interesting and provides something new to consider: I look forward to every class.

The principles, techniques and applications presented in class are always clearly put across and enjoyable and it is easy to see how they can relate to real life and why developing in specific areas is important. In more general health terms, I have noticed gains in strength, speed and general fitness since beginning to train.

I have also, in the last few months, joined the weekend qi gong classes and the improvement in my overall health has been noticeable. The exercises are interesting and fun to perform and have helped me to develop my balance and focus; my energy levels have also increased significantly, enabling me to achieve more in my everyday life. Because of the way the disciplines relate to one another, I feel especially that my learning in kung fu classes has benefited.

There seems to be so much to learn and experience here that I am looking forward to continuing and advancing in these arts in the future.

Thank you for a year of excellent tuition!

When I joined your Kung Fu classes in September 2005 I was not sure whether my couch-potato body aged 50+ would appreciate the impact of a martial art. One year later I am most happy with my experience. Your way of teaching Kung Fu with emphasis on physical and mental development as well as combat has proved most beneficial for me and it is a joy to see me well integrated in your classes of somewhat younger students.

My posture, my overall body-awareness have improved recognisably (I hope you can confirm that), I have picked up methods of stress relief and calming down which come in handy especially at work, lower back-pain has disappeared - I guess due to strengthening of the muscular support of the whole body, I am not sure whether the gradual improvement of some of the blood-screen results (cholesterol, sugar, GTP, ...) can also be attributed to my training, it might well be and of course the defensive skills acquired give me a better, safer feeling when moving around in public.

I have always been very much looking forward to coming to your classes twice a week, it's anything but a chore like going to a gym.

I have been attending Jade Dragon Kung Fu classes with Sifu Paul Chapman for 11 months, and have enjoyed every class so far!

This I believe is because we are shown applications of the skills and movements we learn, so we know WHY we work towards perfecting them.

The skills I have learnt in a very short time are a testament to sifu Paul and the fact that he instills a feeling of wanting to train outside of the class. This is in contrast to other 'training' I have previously undertaken which after a short while has become a chore due to the lack of variety and principles behind it.

I have been attending lessons for approx 6 weeks. The lessons are arranged around everybody's fitness levels which is very good for the beginner as they aren't pushed too far. Whilst physically demanding, the exercises are low impact on the joints which allows people with knee problems to fully participate.

The students I have met are friendly and helpful regardless of their level of experience. The sifu is an excellent teacher who can see your ability and push you to your limits, beginner or expert. The lessons, whilst mindful, are relaxed and have helped me to further my fitness and mental health.

Although I have only been attending the Jade Dragon Kung Fu classes for a short time, I can already feel the benefits of this martial art. When I started, I was unsure I ‘d handle the training due to my level of fitness, however the classes are designed to stretfch each person just beyong thier comfort zone. Thus, each class has improved my confidence & health. Sifu Paul Chapman’s teaching style covers the practical as well as the energy & mind of Kung Fu.

Paul while confident of his skills, is soft spoken and at peace with himself & others, his approach is motivational & aids rebalancing of Mind, Body & Spirit. I highly recommend Jade Dragon Kung Fu training for it’s enjoyment, diverseness & especially because of it’s teacher. I can’t wait for the next session.
